HOW TO GET TO VESZPRÉM

TRAIN

You may purchase discount return tickets for HUF 2023 to the festival from anywhere in Hungary. Get a ‘European Capital of Culture’ (‘EKF’) discount on 24-hour regional tickets for HUF 1990.

During the festival, the last train to Budapest leaves at 1:32 am. The 4:30 pm train leaving from Budapest Déli offers Balkan delicacies in the buffet car. The same car returns last, with Balkan food options on the menu.

BUS

You can take a regional bus from Budapest Népliget bus station to Veszprém. Check out the timetable here.

WALKING

Veszprém is a city of charming streets and walkable distances, we highly recommend you to walk as much as possible between the venues and explore the city.

BUSES

V-BIKE

Veszprém’s brand new bike sharing service adds to viable transport options. For HUF 1,000 you have unlimited bike usage for 3 days. The closest dock to the festival is at Spar on Kossuth Street. Don’t forget to register in advance! You can find detailed info on the V-bike website.

LIME

E-scooter service Lime is also available in Veszprém. Download the Lime application from Play store or AppStore, and have immediate access to the closest vehicle.

Oldtown Stage

Located in the former market square of Veszprém’s historic downtown – a gateway to the castle area, the Oldtown Stage sets the mood for inspiring encounters. Food and beverages are offered from stalls lining the square.

Castle Stage

The main stage of BALKAN:MOST sits smack in the heart of the castle area, surrounded by imposing buildings. A separate food court offers quick bites and beverages, featuring Serbian cevapi and Turkish coffee.

FOTON Stage

A smaller stage, splendid view and comfy lounge area awaits in recently launched multifunctional art space FOTON. Enjoy a coffee or a drink at the bar, chill in a beach chair while listening to Bosnian blues or Serbian a cappella. FOTON also hosts a meeting area for registered Conference delegates.

Hangvilla

Veszprém’s state of the art concert venue, Hangvilla hosts the BALKAN:MOST Conference in 4 of its rooms. A separate ‘Kafana’ area functions as meeting space and press corner throughout the festival.
